A wedding in a barn is just too much fun. I love the contrast and colors through out.
back in Bocas for a dose of Love…
I love this couple. and I love their photos! Erik is stuck in Panama on a volunteer assignment mission to solve environmental health issues for a tiny clan of Ngöbe–Buglé natives on a tiny island east of Bocas del Toro island. But nice guys don’t finish last! Love came to this Peace Corp warrior on a jet plane, straight from Brooklyn.
Since they met in 2012, Carla has had the delightful pleasure of repeatedly visiting Erik in tropical paradise. And on one such visit, I flew down to get their engagement portraits and save the date photos done.
What a great match these two are for each other! One goofy, hairy, surfer man artist poet and one sophisticated, caring, strong, educated woman. Can’t wait to see their magical wedding day emerge next year… in Maine !
Each wedding and each couple I work with is so different. I travel all over the United States and I love capturing each place and special affair.
“It is such a happiness when good people get together – and they always do.” I like this quote by Jane Austen. This is a very special couple indeed. I drove down to California to snap these shots for them. Afterwards, I find myself coming back to these shots again and again. I’m very drawn to them. I guess I’m sentimental about the experience and the beauty of Balboa Park is just so unique!
Celebrating love with these folks couldn’t be easier. Gabrielle and I arrived first and killed some time chatting about music and absorbing the warm desert sun. Brad showed up on his extracycle to meet us and my first instinct was to have Gab jump on the back of it for a fun shot of them riding together.
What came of it was gorgeous.
We spent another hour walking, laughing, strolling, and skipping in the Bario dirt. Later, after the work was finished and the sun was down, I heard about their first date, how Brad is a conservationist and rainwater harvester and owns no car. To my delight, I learned that Brad showed up at Gabrielle’s door with this very same bike and chauffeured her to dinner with her riding on the back, just we had done durring their love photo session.
In these simple moments, I love what I do.
